Breheimen
The center of the MuseVerse
A tour of the kingdom at the heart of the MuseVerse — its founding, its fortifications, and the day Gabrielle Aurelianne declared, "Now we are the storm that levels both your houses."
Realm
Hinterhold
Frozen tundra, fiery independence
A barony of self-governing villages on the northeastern tundra, where the title of "Baron" is drawn by lot at midsummer — and treated as a punishment, not an honor.
Realm
Lyrialia
Sun-drenched coasts, tall ships, and mercantile might
The wealthiest barony in Breheimen — vineyards, port cities, and the Trinity of governors who keep the gold flowing and the navy ready.
Realm
Silea
A bulwark of noble houses, courtly intrigue, and monarchic tradition
The only founding barony that was once a monarchy — still ruled, in all but name, by House Ravenscroft and their long, calculating reach into every court in Breheimen.
Realm
Ferrendell
The gem of the frontier
A frontier barony famed for rivercherry wine and unmatched amethyst — and for the marriage to House Ravenscroft that bought security at the price of independence.
Realm
Ironmount
Forge is life, Forge is strength, Forge is home, Forge is hall
The northwestern barony of smiths and skalds — where the Council of Hammers elects Barons for life, and every life moves to the rhythm of the forge.
Institution
The Grand University of Arts and Sciences
Light reveals, shadow conceals. What we illuminate, we become.
Queen Karelia's founding gift to the kingdom — where Acolytes, Apprentices, Journeymen, and Masters of Arts study side by side, and the Royal Bardic Council convenes.
Institution
The Crown
Governance, the Concilium, and the three tiers of Royal justice
A monarchy deliberately constrained by the Breheimen Accords — a lattice of councils, baronial autonomy, and a justice system of Accountings, Sanctionings, and Judgements.
Institution
The Calendar of Breheimen
Tridecemes, decemes, and the reckoning of the years
Three hundred and sixty days, twelve tridecemes, and a reckoning that begins with the founding of the Kingdom — how Breheimen keeps time.
Powers of the Realm
The Crown
A monarchy deliberately constrained by the Breheimen Accords — the Concilium of six ministers, baronial representatives, and three tiers of Royal justice: Accounting, Sanctioning, and Judgement.

Key Figures
- Dorian SilversongA wandering bard of rare Muse-touched power, Dorian Silversong has spent years avoiding the politics of Breheimen’s capital. When ancient corruption threatens the kingdom’s artists, he is drawn back into a struggle where song, memory, and courage may decide the fate of worlds.
- Lydian GleamingharpeBrilliant, disciplined, and formidable, Lydian Gleamingharpe is one of the leading voices of the Royal Bardic Collegium. A Muse-touched poet and teacher, she balances elegance with steel, defending the integrity of art against ambition, corruption, and political pressure.
- Revan AethelstanEarnest, thoughtful, and still learning the shape of his own gifts, Revan Aethelstan begins as a young scholar drawn into events far beyond expectation. Under Dorian’s guidance, he discovers that inspiration is not merely talent, but responsibility.
- Mixolydian “Mixie” ThornecrestQuick-witted, perceptive, and emotionally sharper than she lets on, Mixie Thornecrest is Lydian’s apprentice and one of the Collegium’s rising talents. Her curiosity and courage place her at the edge of secrets that older, wiser minds have long feared to name.
- Phrygian EobanusA venerable Praeceptor of the Church of the Muse, Phrygian Eobanus has spent a lifetime guarding doctrine. But when buried truths begin to surface, his conscience drives him toward reform, even if speaking plainly costs him everything.
- Seraphina RavenscroftNoble, proud, and dangerously determined, Lady Seraphina Ravenscroft is a mother willing to challenge institutions, rivals, and fate itself for her daughter’s sake. Her love is real—but so is her hunger for control, and the shadows know how to exploit both.
- Ilmarinen SteelhammerA master smith of Ironmount, Ilmarinen Steelhammer is tasked with helping forge a successor to Breheimen’s shattered sword of state. Stern, gifted, and burdened by unseen corruption, he stands at the center of creation, redemption, and catastrophe.
- King Siegfried VestalisThe forty-first Sovereign of Breheimen, King Siegfried Vestalis bears the burden of crown, church, and kingdom in an age of fracture. Just, decisive, and increasingly tested, he must hold Breheimen together as symbols fail and hidden enemies move against him.
- Locrian HeartcallerOnce a respected bard and leader, Locrian Heartcaller became the vessel of an ancient corruption. Charismatic, brilliant, and profoundly dangerous, his betrayal set the Muses’ War into motion and left Breheimen wounded in ways no sword alone can mend.
- William CantorenCourt Bard and royal herald, William Cantoren serves King Siegfried not merely with ceremony, but with counsel, loyalty, and song. A steady presence beside the throne, he understands that morale, truth, and memory can be weapons as powerful as steel.
- Sonoran CathalSonoran Cathal, master bard and beloved mentor to Dorian Silversong, embodies the old wisdom of the Collegium Bardica. Patient, exacting, and deeply humane, he teaches that art is not command over the Muse, but partnership with it.
- Lucian VarastelPraeceptor Summa of the Musae Seminarii, Lucian Varastel stands at the crossroads of doctrine, authority, and crisis. Measured and formidable, he must judge whether reform is revelation, rebellion, or the first crack in an institution built to endure.
